Morphotaxonomical Study on Some Potent Medicinal Herbs in Botanical Garden, Annamalai University

The morpho-taxonomical studies ensure the correct identification and assure the correct therapeutic uses to avoid misidentification and contamination of plants and its products. In the present study, medicinal herbs of the accessibility area of the Botanical Garden of Annamalai University were analyzed using morph-taxonomical evaluation to identify the distinct plants and medicinal values. Twelve plants were observed. Among these, eleven plants are dicot and one plant is monocot. The present study itself is a preliminary work; it should be concentrated in the future to increase the documentation of the correct plants among the locals.
