Keywords:
Metal Complexes, Antifungal Activity, Schiff BaseAbstract
Coordination compounds of some transition metal ions Co(II) of synthesized ligand 4-chloro-2-(((4-chlorophenyl) imino)methyl) phenol. These Schiff base ligand were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, 13CNMR, Mass spectral analysis ,magnetic susceptibility and molar conductance, whereas, Metal complexes is analyzed by IR, UV-Vis, Magnetic susceptibility, Molar Conductance, elemental analysis.Schiff base ligand and its metal (II) complexes were tested in vitro to evaluate their bactericidal activity against bacteria S. aureus and B.subtilis and antifungal activity against A. Niger and F. Oxysporum using the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. antibacterial evaluation results revealed that the metal (II) complexes exhibited higher antibacterial activity than the free Schiff base ligand.
